Standard for safety footwear testing
 Protective shoe headers are usually installed in finished shoes that provide impact resistance and compression resistance. The traditional shoe Baotou is usually steel Baotou, some are aluminum shoe baotou, and in recent years, plastic shoes Baotou or non-metallic composite shoes Baotou also gradually entered the market. Compared with steel Baotou, aluminum Baotou and non-metallic composite Baotou is lighter, but the price is usually much more expensive. However, they do have their advantages for specific uses, including in magnetic-sensitive electronics plants and petrochemical industries. The airport is also widely used for safety shoes with synthetic Baotou and plastic Baotou because of their non-metallic properties

It is possible to minimize interference with metals through security areas.
 At present, the world according to the safety shoe Baotou specific protection performance standards have several different test standards and certification requirements. These include the CSA certification conducted by the Z195-02 Standard in Canada, the ASTM F2413-05 standard in the United States (which has replaced the ansiz41-1999 standard in recent years), and the regulations applicable to the Personal protective equipment (PPE) Directive $number in the EU area.

All of the above standards and regulations require that the shoe Baotou be tested and assessed as part of the finished shoe.

Requirements for European standards
 Safety Footwear testing Standards: Personal Protective Equipment Directive CE standard requirements include requirements for finished products such as finished shoes and garments, not applicable to accessories, materials and parts. Therefore, the shoe Baotou itself is impossible to apply for CE standards.

However, the shoe Baotou can be used as part of the test, using the requirements and test methods of the European standard EN 12,568:1998 specially set for the shoe Baotou. The standard test conditions are similar to the test standard EN ISO20345 of finished shoes, but the clearance requirements for the impact compression are higher to counteract the narrowing of the gap that may result from the softer soles being extruded upwards.

The EN12568 standard covers the impact and compression resistance of the shoe Baotou, as well as the measurement standard for the shoe Baotou, and the anti-corrosion performance of the metal shoe Baotou.

The impact resistance of a non-metallic shoe Baotou is tested after several different pretreatments, such as the impact test after high temperature and low temperature pretreatment, and the impact test after several different chemical treatments.

For manufacturers of finished shoes that are sold to the European market, we strongly recommend that they only purchase shoes Baotou that meet the en 12568 test standard. If possible, the supplier of shoe Baotou is required to provide the test reports of its products issued by third party test bodies (such as Satra) approved by the ISO 17025 standard. For Non-metallic Footwear Baotou, the European Safety Footwear standard (en ISO20345 and EN ISO 20346) requires that finished shoes can only be used in accordance with the EN12568 standard of paragraph 4.3 requirements and other types of shoes Baotou.

The design of the shoe Baotou is also very important for good performance. Based on the principle of "protection space", the design of the shoe Baotou must make it have enough strength to limit its rupture or deformation within a certain range, that is, when the impact or compression test is carried out according to the relevant standards, the shoe Baotou will not be crushed or deformed.

In addition to the material strength, thickness and shape of the shoe Baotou, the width of the hem formed along the bottom edge of the shoe header is also an important factor, as the hem can help the shoe baotou to transfer its pressure to the sole that supports it. Another important feature is the internal depth of the shoe Baotou, the deeper the shoe Baotou, the greater the amount of deformation in the impact, the better the protection for the wearer.

Different standards of compression test (such as ASTM, CSA, EN) are very similar, and the impact test because of the impact of the shape of the Baotou, impact energy and the standard requirements of the minimum clearance after the impact of a little change.

Clearly, the actual use of the shoe header's specifications and performance is crucial to any safety shoe's ability to provide protection. However, the design and structure of the safety shoe itself, in turn, affects the performance of the shoe Baotou, which is why it is necessary to test the shoe Baotou part from the finished shoe because it is the only way to test the actual protection level of the wearer.
